St. John's National Park service offers an assortment of programs to introduce you to the bountiful outdoor activities to explore and educate its visitors. Offering programs every day of the week, the Virgin Islands National Park Service is happy to accommodate our multitude of visitors.

Meet at the National Park Visitors Center at 9:30 a.m.
The secrets of St. john's tropical forests, petroglyphs
and sugar mill ruins come alive on this three mile downhill
hike. Participants should bring lunch, 1-2 liters of water
per person, any special medication, and a swimsuit for
a dip at the trail's end. wear good hiking shoes (no open-toed
footwear or aqua socks) and cool comfortable clothing.
The Reef Bay Trail is mostly downhill but is not necessarily
easy due to its length, steep rocky terrain, short but
strenuous uphill sections, and the prevailing heat and
humidity. In addition there is the remote possibility
that deteriorating sea conditions might require hiking
back uphill to the trail head. Visitors with circulatory
or joint/muscle problems, and other medical conditions,
or with small children, should carefully evaluate their
ability to do this hike. Participation is limited. reservations
are required. Call 776 6201 ext. 238 between 8.00 a.m.
and 4:30 p.m.
This hike includes transportation - a taxi ride to the
trail head (cost $5.00) and a boat pickup at Reef Bay, which
returns hikers to the Visitors Center dock at Cruz Bay

Learn about the importance of agriculture in the Virgin
islands from slavery to the present. The gardener is on site
from Monday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. West Indian
traditional cooking will be demonstrated twice a month. Please
call the Visitors Center for details. Baking of dumb bread
will be demonstrated the traditional way, in a dutch oven.
You not only get to learn about the ingredients, but the
unique style in which the bread is baked. best of all you
are given a sample to taste. the baker is on site from wednesday
to friday |

Guided Snorkeling Trip |

stand.
Discover the park's underwater resources and snorkel above
a coral reef. Bring a mask, snorkel, fins, and a t-shirt
to prevent sunburn. Not for novice snorkelers. |

Cinnamon Bay. Walk from the beach over to the ruins across
