St. John Sea Creatures: Flame Box Crab
This unusual crab was photographed at Maho Bay. It's a flame box crab that inhabits the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico and the eastern seabord of the United States.
The flame box crab lives in sand flats and coral rubble with sandy areas. It is shy and buries itself in the sand when they see a diver approaching.
